Dharamshala: The Tibetan Children's Village school (TCV) in lower Dharamsala today completed 25 years of excellence in imparting both traditional Tibetan studies and modern education to thousands of Tibetan children in exile.
Established in May 1984, the school was formally blessed by His Holiness the Dalai Lama in October 1992, following which the school marked its founding anniversary every year.
This year's silver jubilee celebration was marked with great fanfare as schoolchildren showcased house-wise parade, cultural performances, philosophical debate and photo exhibition. A large number of school alumni were invited to participate in the event.>>more |

Inauguration of New Khyemtsang
(4/8/09):
This year a new KhyemTsang (Home) has completed its construction. Three homes were shifted on the day our village Director Gen. Tsewang Yeshi Lak has visited our school for its inauguration.

Inter-House Cultural Dance Competition

This is one of the major school events held every year among the four houses to celebrate His Holiness' birthday.. Every house needs to prepare two dance, one group song and a duet for the competition. The house masters with the outside aid from the TIPA gave their heart and sweat out to pass our unique culture to the new generation and also to vie for the top for about a month.
On 10th of July, the grand finale was held in the presence of honorable chief guest Mr. Penpa Tsering, the chairman of Tibetan People's Deputies and other dignataries. All houses put up their best effort. Drichu house stole the show by bagging first position followed by Zachu, Kyichu and Machu.
A public show was done for propogating our rich and distinct culture to the foreign audience and importance of preserving it to the youth of Tibetans. The hall was jam packed with mostly foreign tourist which supplemented our purposes. We also did an exchange programme with Upper TCV with great success. |

SeniorTibetan Elocutione
(20/4/09):
Senior Elocution was held just after the Monday's Life Skill period.The contest was introduced just few years back.
Serior students have presented dramatics on various topics based on our day to day life. Everyone did very well, especially the drama performed by Tashi and Sonam that stood first in the contest. |

Junior English Elocutione
(14/4/09):
The first Junior English Elocution contest this year was held on the said date and the students of class VI, VII and VIII effectively participated in it. In total we have 20 students taking part in the Speech Section, Dramatics and Poetry Section.
All the students have performed their piece of snippet very lively and beautifully. |

Junior Tibetan Debate
(1/4/09):
"We were benefited for 50 years in Exile" This was the topic for Junior Tibetan Debate, which was held on the 1st of April. Under this topic we tried to recapitulate the past events and envisage the future scope of the Tibetans.
It is also to let the students draw their own opinion whether we were really benifited in exile for all those 50 years of struggle. |

Senior English Spelling Bee
(24/11/08):-
This was the last and the most awaited activity of the year. There were 45 students contesting in it from the senior classes i.e. from class VII to X. The contest ended after four rounds.
Miss Tenzin Dachung of class IX was declared the best speller of the year. |

G.K Quiz Contest
(20/11/08):-
This contest is open to all the senior students. After the preliminary test, finally eight students were selected for the contest.
It is organized by the Social Science department. The questions in this contest are mainly based on the Social Science subjects and the current affairs. |

DIALECTIC CONTEST AT MUSSOORIE
Nov.1st to 5th
Four students from class VII and class VIII got a chance to participate in Dialectic contest at Tibetan Homes Foundation at Mussoirrie. Master Tenzin Lhabu and Miss Tenzin Choedon represented class VII and Master Rinchen and Miss Stenzin Lhadon represented class VII. Their escort was our religious teacher Gen Lobsang Ngodup. There were eleven schools to participate. Class VIII students begged third position and were handsomely rewarded. |

SCIENCE DAY EXIBITION (23/10//08):-
The senior students from class 6 and above had been very busy preparing their science projects for the project display. Eventhough facing a shortage of
time, the science project exibition was a great success involving the cooperation and hardwork of the students. The science teachers truly appreciated the deligency of the students. The visiting students and staffs were benifitted in many ways as some of the experiments had a direct link and could be applied on our daily life
The main objective of conducting this exibition was to broaden up the knowledge and make a clear conscience and understanding of science to the students

ANNUAL ATHLETIC MEET (17/10//08):-
Due to the rainy season, the 2008 Atheletic Meet was postponded from 10th oct to 17 oct.Mr. Karma choephel la, the chairman of the Tbetan Parliament in exile being the chief guest of the day and various students from different schools with their respective head masters and principals were invited.Overall the day went on well and the students enthusiastically took part in various games and thouroughly helped their house masters.The champion house of the 2008 Atheletic Meet was backed by Zachu house.

SCHOOL FOUNDING DAY (10/10//08):-
Our school founding day function was held on 10th october 2008 with Mr.Tenzin Sangpo,the education Director of TCV as the chief guestof the day.
A group song was presented by the students of class 7 and thereafter, junior Tibetan spelling bee contest of students from class 4 to 6 was conducted by the Tibetan Department. The contest went on for one and half hour, students competing to win the contest.
Finally the student with 3rd position was Miss.Tenzin Dekyong of class 6K. Second position was backed by Miss. Tenzin Choekyi of class 6B.The best speller of the 2008 Junior.Tibetan spelling bee contest was MasterTenzin Lodoe of class 6K.Tthe day ended with a talent night show where students were given opportunity to show their talent. GANDHI JAYANTI (2/10//08):-
Gandhiji served others throughout his life selflessly. The139th birthday of the indian father of nation was celebrated by the students and staffs of LTCV by cleaning the surrounding. The junior students cleaned the school campus whereas the senior students cleaned the nearby areas of the school. The cleaning areas were divided into groups by the Social Science Department of LTCV. Inter-Class Basketball Match (19/08//08):-
Just after the class the sky was wrapped by cloud and started a heavy downpour.Two final match took place. The match took place between class IV K v/s VK boys and followed by class VI B v/s IV K girls. Neither of the team show any sign of dispair of the bad weather, instead they played very well.
In the end V K boys won against class IV K boys and Class VI B against IV K. |

InterHouse Footballl Match (18/08//08):-
It was on football final match between Kyichu v/s Drichu house. first goal was made by Kyichu but at the end Drichu house won by one goal making the end to this match with 3-2.
Over all this year football match between houses had been a wonderfull experence and we have seen that our children have lots of interest and skill in football. |

Resource Talk (16/05//08):-
Mr. Tenpa C. Samkar lak Excutive Director of Active Non-violence Education Centre (ANEC) and Ms. Lhakpa Kyizom, Training Officer have been invited in our school as resource person.
They have introduced its establishment, their objectives and most important imparted various outreach strategy through non-violence to the students. |

Tibet Our Country (09/05//08):-
In order to preserve the unique Tibetan cultural tradition, every year students were active in making the Tibet Our Country Project a sucessful.
This year we have focused on the recent developing stories in regards to both Tibet and China in the protests and the violent crackdowns. Parents, teacher and students have visited the spot. |

Senior English Debate was held on 2nd May on the topic "That China deserve to host the 2008 Olympic Game".
Master Tenzin Zangpo of class X B was speaking against the motion. His excellent performance grasped the audience heart and ranked first in individual section. |

Our school principal Mr. Choeying Dhondup lak giving away the prize to Class X K , the winner of the contest.
Class X B stood second followed by IX B and IX K.
The participants gathered huge applause from the audience and it was greatly appreciated by the principal. |
