To preserve distinct Tibetan culture in the form of dance and music.
To motivate the students to attach significance to our music and dance for the preservation of our identity.
To develop the pupils' interest and train them the skills and artistry of Tibetan songs and dances.
To pass on the Tibetan songs and dance to the coming generation.
To continue producing future artists in the field of Tibetan music and dance.
How the above aims are accomplished?
Morning Assembly:
The national songs listed in the curriculum are practiced regularly with school band during the school morning assembly. The school has scheduled the songs in the morning assembly.
After School Activities:
Even though music and dance is taught to the students during the school hours, yet the time framed for training the students is very limited. Hence, after school training is also given to the students. Every year, life skill program on Music and Dance is also organized for students showing particular interest in Tibetan music and dance. Besides, the instructors also spend considerable time to enrich and strengthen the school dance troupe, which performs on every important occasion of Tibet.
Inter- House Cultural Competition:
The present practice of inter- house cultural competition in our school also gives strong backing to the children's learning of our cultural dance and music. Every year, our school also observes a cultural month during which, participation of almost all the students belonging to four different houses is ensured. The well - established artists who are invited from Tibetan Institute of Performing Arts(TIPA) teach our children Tibetan music and dance.
School - Wide Program:
The unique Lhamo or Opera tradition of Tibet is also added in our school curriculum. Every effort is put to instruct the students to perform Opera to the Highest level and we give opportunity to class above 5 to watch live opera show at TIPA every year.
Music & Dance for Co-CurricularActivities: After school training is also given to the students. Every year, life skill program on Music and Dance is also organized for students showing particular interest in Tibetan music and dance. Besides, the instructors also spend considerable time to enrich and strengthen the school dance troupe, which performs on every important occasion of Tibet.
