Introduction: Technology advancement affect every aspect of society, be it our living standard, education or anything else. With the rapid technology advancement, one thing is clear by now that computers are inseparable parts of our lives.
Computer has permeated in every walk of life. Since, 'Education' is an important part of our lives, 'Computers' are being introduced to students as early as possible. And that is why TCV has taken step towards Information Technology Sensitivity.
It has included the subject of computer at class VI to XII but here in Lower TCV we teach computer from class III to X.
This subject offers scope for computer-added learning. It also facilitates developing a generation of knowledge workers.
Computer Education Curriculum:
General:
- To familiarize with basics of information technology
- To develop basic skills of using tools for word processing, presentation and database management
- To appreciate use of IT in various domains
- For Junior class i.e. Class III to V we instruct them how to handle keyboard and mouse by familiarize with typing tutors and MS-Paint.
Specific:
- Cognitive domain: Knowledge and understanding
To develop basic understanding of IT system operations and information accessing tools
- Psychomotor domain: Skills
To develop skills in using tools of word processor, to manage database, to make graphs, to analyze reports using spreadsheets and to develop web pages using HTML languages.
- Affective domain: Personality traits
To develop habit of teamwork and structured presentation.
Conclusion: As computers have become a part and parcel of our life, we have introduced computer lessons, in our school from class III to X. Students show great zeal and are alway's inquisitive to acquire more knowledge of computers. |
